The short version

Every earlier Squalo was built to go fast. The one in the Grand Theft Auto VI Ultimate Edition is built to spend the day out, and Rockstar's description puts fishing first: 'Perfect for casting in Gambit Bay and reeling in catches of all sorts'.

Then it adds the part that makes it a Grand Theft Auto boat. This 'gradient pink and blue Squalo docked at Washington Beach is made open-ocean-ready with an explosives-laden weapons crate.'

What the four official images show

In Rockstar's order. Two of the captions name Jason and Lucia; the others do not name anyone.

  1. Night run past the skyline. Two people at the helm, a pink-to-teal palm-leaf livery, fishing rods in holders, a yellow dive tank on the stern and a helicopter over the lit towers behind.
  2. White hull in the sun. A side view of a plain white Squalo with a faint palm pattern, the 'Squalo' script and the Shitzu logo on the arch. So the boat is shown in more than one finish, though Rockstar's text promises the pink and blue one.
  3. Dolphins off the stern. Jason and Lucia on the teak swim platform with a cooler, drinks and scuba gear, as dolphins surface alongside.
  4. Top-down chase. The Squalo running flat out between a Vice City Police boat and a police helicopter, the only image that shows it in a wanted situation.

From offshore racer to cruiser

The Squalo has been in five earlier games, and it has already changed character once. Squalo is Italian for shark.

Why the change fits Leonida

The old Squalo was a Miami Vice prop, fast and loud. The new one has a cabin, a swim platform and rod holders, the kind of boat you see at any Florida marina.

It also lines up with what Rockstar has shown elsewhere: fishing and scuba diving are both on screen, and our hunting and fishing guide covers what is known.

The weapons crate is the real benefit

Rockstar says the crate makes the boat 'open-ocean-ready'. It has not said what is in it beyond explosives, whether it restocks, or how it relates to the weapon storage in vehicles.

Where Washington Beach and Gambit Bay are

Both names come from Rockstar's description. Neither appears in Rockstar's six-region overview, and no official map has been published.

Anyone placing them precisely is working from something other than official material.

Before you buy the Ultimate Edition for it

  • Ultimate Edition only, and Ultimate is sold digitally. The code-in-box release is Standard.
  • Squalos exist outside the edition: GTA Wiki notes two on boat trailers outside Brian's Boat Works in the second trailer, and one on a billboard in an official screenshot. Whether you can buy or take one in the base game has not been stated.
  • What the edition specifically promises is the pink and blue livery, the Washington Beach berth and the weapons crate.
