Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There is no PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version, no Nintendo Switch 2 announcement, and - The part that generates most of the traffic to this page - No PC version announced at all.
Skipping last-gen is the right call and an unusual one for Rockstar, which shipped GTA V across three console generations over seven years. The systems shown in the Extended Look, particularly the crowd density, the persistent bodies and the interior detail, are not things a 2013 console does.
The PC situation is genuinely unresolved. Rockstar has not committed to a PC version of GTA VI in any form. Its history strongly implies one is coming - GTA V reached PC roughly 18 months after console, Red Dead Redemption 2 roughly 12 - But precedent is not an announcement, and we will not present it as one.

Why PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only
Memory, mostly. For an open world the gap that matters is not raw GPU power. It is RAM and storage speed.
What memory actually buys
Those two things decide how much world can be loaded at once, and how fast it can be swapped out.
GTA V ran on PS4 because it was built for PS3 first. GTA VI has no such ancestor to scale down from.
Cross-generation is not free
Every system shown so far costs memory: the density of Vice City's streets, objects that stay where you left them, interiors you can walk into.
Cutting all that to fit a 2013 machine would produce a visibly different game. The full platform list is on our platforms page.
What we know about performance modes
Nothing official. There are no published resolution targets, no frame-rate modes and no PS5 Pro statement.
What the Extended Look tells us
It was captured on a standard PlayStation 5. That is a fact about capture, not about shipping performance.
A 30fps fidelity mode plus a higher-frame-rate performance mode is the likeliest setup, and Red Dead Redemption 2 targeted 30fps on console. Treat any specific number you see today as a guess. Our console performance page tracks it.
Platform status at a glance
Two confirmed platforms, one very likely, one ruled out for launch.
| Platform | Status | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Confirmed | Launch platform |
| Xbox Series X|S | Confirmed | Launch platform |
| PC | Not announced | Very likely later, no date |
| PS4 and Xbox One | Not happening | Memory, not GPU power |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Not announced | No statement either way |
The PC version, honestly
Rockstar has not announced a PC version. No date, no platform page, no store listing, no statement of intent.
What is reasonable to infer
Every mainline GTA has reached PC eventually. PC is a large and growing share of Rockstar's revenue, and the PC ports of GTA V and RDR2 both sold well.
So a PC version is very likely. The timing is not knowable, and the "late 2027 to 2028" estimates going around are extrapolated from two data points. We keep the detail on the PC version page.
