Grand Theft Auto VI follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Rockstar's published premise says a score goes wrong, placing them inside a state-wide criminal conspiracy and forcing them to rely on each other to survive.
Rockstar has also published six supporting-character profiles: Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Raul Bautista and Brian Heder. Real Dimez is the duo Bae-Luxe and Roxy, so the eight profile headings cover nine named people.

Lucia Caminos
Lucia starts the game in custody and is released early on.
Her arc is visible in the first trailer
The trailer shows her in a prison jumpsuit, in a boxing gym, on a motorcycle, in nightclubs, and in the passenger seat of a Declasse Tulip with stacks of cash.
Put those in order and you get a short arc: locked up, disciplined, mobile, paid.
What she actually wants
Her stated motive is not power for its own sake. She wants a life that works, with Jason. Crime is the tool she has.
That is a different engine from the one behind Trevor Philips or Michael De Santa. It is also why the series' first female lead matters beyond the headline.
What the first trailer gives you
Five settings, in this order: a prison jumpsuit, a boxing gym, a motorcycle, nightclubs, and a car seat with cash in her lap.
That is a compressed arc, and it is most of what has been shown of her.
Jason Duval
Jason's life is a chain of places he did not choose. He grew up among grifters. He enlisted. The Army did not fix it.
Where he ended up
He landed in the Leonida Keys, doing the only work he was fluent in.
In the footage so far he is the more reactive of the two. He also carries an ex-military competence that the combat systems seem built around.
Why the pairing is the point
Lucia supplies the drive. Jason supplies the capability.
