What the single image shows

Rockstar's caption reads 'Jason driving his Vapid Ganado, equipped with a yellow paint job and red racing stripe.' Looking closer:

  1. Paint. Yellow, with a broad red stripe over the bonnet that runs back along the flanks, and 'Ganado' script on the doors and front wings.
  2. Bonnet. A raised scoop with a '434ci' callout, echoed by a '434' badge on the front wing.
  3. Front. Four round headlamps in a mesh grille around a bull's-head emblem. Ganado is Spanish for cattle, and the badge follows the name.
  4. Wheels and stance. Polished slotted rims on raised-letter tyres, with tyre smoke as Jason pulls away along a seawall.

The real car behind it

Rockstar does not name real cars, but a four-headlamp coupe utility with a big-block callout is hard to mistake.

A 1970 to 1971 Ford Ranchero

Ford built the Ranchero, a pickup derived from its passenger cars, from 1957 to 1979. The 1970 to 1971 generation shared the Torino's pointed front end and could be ordered with the 429 cubic inch Cobra Jet V8.

A '434ci' callout reads like Rockstar nudging that 429 up by five, the same kind of near-miss the series uses for names. That is our reading.

The other side of an old rivalry

The Ranchero sold well enough that General Motors answered it with the Chevrolet El Camino in 1959. The series' earlier car-based pickup, the Picador in San Andreas and GTA V, is the El Camino side, according to GTA Wiki.

The Ganado gives the Ford side its turn.

Why a mod kit is the interesting part

It is the only vehicle item in the Ultimate Edition that adds no new vehicle, and that says something about the game.

Story vehicles can be restyled

If a benefit can add mods to Jason's own truck, the game has a way of applying looks to a protagonist's vehicle. Rockstar also names Rideout Customs, which turns 'vanilla vehicles into magnificent works of art with detailed interiors, exquisite rims, and donk stylings'.
